The busy Sydney City Hall train station was evacuated Wednesday morning due to reports of a suspicious package.
Nearby St. Andrew’s Cathedral School was also locked when police swept the station.
« SACS is partially blocked due to a suspicious package found at the town hall train station, » the school said in a text message to the parents.
NSW police confirmed at 11:40 am that a police operation was being carried out after an earlier emergency call was in progress at the train station.
The reason for the operation was not clear, but there were several reports of a « suspicious package » and « verbal threats ». NSW police confirmed on Twitter that they were found nothing suspicious when the station was searched.
