World News – CA – Prajnesh finished second in a row after final loss in Orlando

. .

Prajnesh Gunneswaran finished the Orlando Open in second at the Orlando Open and lost the summit fight of the ATP Challenger Event for American Brandon Nakashima, here on Sunday.

Prajnesh didn’t have the power in his punches to hurt the American and lost 3-6 4-6 at USD 52. 080 hard court tournament.

The Indian left-hander could not implement any of the eight break chances that were offered to him in a competition of one hour and 28 minutes.

It is Prajnesh’s second, second in a row. He had reached the final of the Cary Challenger last week.

The result will help Prajnesh go from 137 to 128. With his Orlando show, he has already taken first place in India.

Prajnesh served with 2-3.30 points, burying a forehand in the net for a break point, but saved it with an ace.

Another forehand mistake by Prajnesh gave Nakaksima another chance, but the Indian saved it with a well-placed winner.

Nakashima’s strong ground hits, however, gave him another chance and this time Prajnesh couldn’t save and sent a backhand over the baseline.

A slight grip put the American 5-2 ahead. He returned to serve the set without a fuss.

In the third game of the second set, Prajnesh dropped his serve and missed two break chances in the next game to let the 19-year-old Nakashima run away with his first Challenger singles trophy.
