Paris, France, Jan. 14 – The French government will impose a nationwide curfew from 6:00 p.m. on Saturday to combat the spread of Covid-19, Prime Minister Jean Castex said Thursday.
The measure will remain in force for at least two weeks, Castex said at a press conference.
So far, most of France has been under a curfew of 8:00 p.m., some parts of the country, especially in the heavily affected east, has already been under the stricter curfew of 6:00 p.m.
Castex said a much-feared increase in infections after the end of the year holidays had not occurred, but a new lockdown could be imposed « immediately » if the health situation deteriorated significantly.
Castex also said travelers traveling to France from destinations outside the European Union would need to present a negative Covid test that is less than 72 hours old and self-isolate for seven days. You would then have to do a second test
