World news – Manulife IM hires ex-Schroders Portfolio Manager

Manulife Investment Management strengthens its multi-asset capabilities by hiring a former portfolio manager from Schroders Investment Management.

Jeffrey Kan joins Manulife IM as managing director and senior portfolio manager for asset allocation, according to a statement.

Kan has 17 years of investment management experience, most recently at Schroders Investment Management in Hong Kong, where he managed various portfolios, including multi-asset and fixed-income strategies.

Manulife IM brought Kan with the Chinese onshore market, particularly with a focus on the Multi Asset Solutions (MAST) team.

In the newly created role, Kan will also act as a dedicated liaison between MAST and the company’s mainland companies, too which own the joint venture fund house Manulife TEDA and the wholly foreign owned Manulife Investment Shanghai.
