. . A series of severe thunderstorms swept the Dallas area late Tuesday night. The storms triggered tornado warnings and tornado sirens, although no tornadoes were officially confirmed.

Whether or not there were tornadoes, structural damage occurred in Arlington and patients were screened for possible injuries, according to the Arlington Fire Department. Some buildings collapsed and fell on vehicles.
The driver and passengers of a car have all been reported as safe after a structure on a vehicle carrying people collapsed in a case in Arlington.

At Denton, less than 30 miles north-northwest of Dallas, a wind gust of 55 miles per hour was reported. Earlier that evening, a wind gust of 65 miles per hour was reported at Mineral Wells, just over 60 miles west of Dallas.
The thunderstorms have moved east of the area and drier weather with plenty of sunshine is expected on Wednesday.
